Learning & method assessment
You will be learning all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) with the emphasis on the spoken language. Learning activities will include individual, pair, small group and whole class work. You will listen to the spoken word, watch videos, practise speaking, play games, read simple texts and write short phrases.
This is not an accredited course, so there will be no formal examination. However, your tutor will ask you to complete informal assessment exercises and will give you feedback.
If you are to gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from your language class, it will be useful to spend some time working between sessions. There will usually be a small amount of homework set each week (up to an hour’s work). When homework is not set, it is still a good idea to spend about that amount of time going over what has been done in class. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
