This qualification is designed for learners interested in roles where an understanding of care planning is crucial. It provides an in-depth understanding of person-centred thinking, planning, and review, as well as various aspects of care planning, hygiene, continence, and supporting individuals in managing their health and well-being.
Learners will delve into the principles and processes of person-centred thinking, planning, and review, acquiring skills to work with individuals to carry out activities specified in their care or support plans. The curriculum also covers topics related to promoting health and well-being, maintaining personal hygiene, supporting continence, and addressing sleep-related issues. This qualification prepares individuals for roles in healthcare and social care where care planning is essential.

Unit 1: Understand person-centred thinking and planning Unit 2: Care planning of the care worker Unit 3: Principles of supporting an individual to maintain personal hygiene Unit 4: Understanding nutrition and hydration in health and social care settings Unit 5: Understanding continence care Unit 6: Principles of supporting sleep.

Entry criteria
Learners must be aged 19 or above and have not previously completed a similar qualification to qualify for funding. Some courses may have additional specific prerequisites. Please see fee information for funding requirements, or discuss upon enquiry.

These courses are government funded. To be able to study for free you must meet the following criteria:

- You must currently live in England

- You must have been a resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years for purposes other than study

- You must be over the age of 19

- You must not be an apprentice

- You must not be currently studying another funded course.
