This qualification provides a pathway into the sector for individuals considering a career in health and/or social care or those returning to work after a career break.
This is an eleven (11) week qualification that will enable learners to develop a basic knowledge of the adult social care sector and is aimed at those learners who wish to explore roles in this field.

The course will explore: - Types of social care support available to adults - The range of jobs available in adult social care - The values and principles of adult social care - The importance of diversity within adult social care - The range of skills and attitudes essential to work in adult social care - The communication skills needed and how adult social care workers can meet the communication and language needs of individuals - The importance of record keeping in adult social care settings

No class on 20/02/2025.In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.

Learning & method assessment
Learners will be able to participate in weekly, classroom activities to build and share knowledge alongside their peers. There will be opportunities to have discussions, do short presentations, design leaflets and complete a diary to reflect on weekly lessons. There is no exam attached to this course, learners will complete a portfolio of evidence. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
