Preparation for the Award in Practical French Level 2
The course is designed to look at the four basic skills of learning a language and prepare you for taking the Award in Practical Spanish.

It will introduce you to the concepts of the two modules that make up the award:

Level 2 Award in Speaking and Listening in French

Level 2 Award in Reading and Writing in French

In doing so you will practise the language knowledge you have already accumulated in your previous learning and extend that with the use of that knowledge in a variety of common situations and settings such as greeting people, days out, holidays and practical situations like visiting the dentist or supermarket.

What next?
Level 2 Award in Speaking and Listening in French

Level 2 Award in Reading and Writing in French

Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for the Level 1 qualification of this suite. Learners may find it advisable to have some prior knowledge and understanding from our Entry 3 Award in the relevant language (Reading & Writing and/or Speaking & Listening) or an equivalent Entry Level 3 language qualification. However 2 years of learning at an appropriate language school may also be adequate so please contact our admissions team who will put you in touch with one of our experienced tutors if in doubt.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

Fee information
A textbook is used to accompany the course, but it is optional to buy this (average cost £20 - £25). The textbook will support your learning for at least 1 year. You may also like to buy a small dictionary. Your tutor will be able to advise you at the first session.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
