A course that offers comprehensive, non-aerobic exercises to help improve posture and balance, maintain suppleness, promote fitness and general wellbeing. The exercises are underpinned by the Alexander Technique, Pilates and Yoga. Come and learn about your posture. This course is aimed at the over 50's.
Who is this course for?

An exercise class aimed primarily at the over 50s.

What the course will cover:

The exercises work through the whole body and are repeated each session so that you can remember them and continue to practice at home. The exercises involve both standing and lying on the floor.

This course is about maintaining fitness, suppleness and muscle tone and improve posture, balance and wellbeing. Please wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing, have bare feet or non-slip socks.

Bring along an exercise mat and a small pillow to support your head when lying on the floor.

Course Outcomes:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• practice non-aerobic exercises to help improve posture and balance

• identify the benefits of regular exercise for general wellbeing

• recognise how exercise can maintain suppleness and promote fitness

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
The course will include a mixture of demonstration, observation, and practical exercises. The tutor will be available to support you throughout.
To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
