Cheney SchoolThroughout the course, you’ll learn how to introduce yourself and others, talk about friends and family, describe your surroundings - such as your classroom, home or town - and express likes and dislikes. You’ll also cover basic topics including colours, days of the week, months and simple time expressions.
In addition to vocabulary building, there is a strong focus on grammar and pronunciation. You will be introduced to the Polish alphabet, vowels and consonants, and develop confidence in using personal pronouns, understanding gender, forming questions and negations, and applying correct word order. The course also covers cardinal and ordinal numbers, and the basic parts of speech needed for simple sentence construction.
This welcoming and supportive course is a great first step into learning Polish. If you find the pace too gentle, we recommend looking into our more advanced Polish courses listed on the website.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
