Can I do all three levels?
Yes, we run each course level three times a year, so once you’ve completed one course, you will be able to move up to the next at the nearest start date.
W1: Introduction to basic workshop safety: Soldering techniques
W2: Introduction to different methods of joining pipework, using the different materials used in the industry: End feed and integral soldering, Compression, Low carbon steel, push fit
W3: Small frame assessment
W4: Pipe bending techniques
W5: Wall work
W6: Final large frame
W7: Testing and decommissioning final large frame
Intermediate Programme:
W1: Learn about the operation and repair of: Stop valve, Service valve, Gate valves and taps
W2: Installation and maintenance of float operated valves (ball valves): Understand legislation regarding float valves, renew and repair float valves, replacing taps in: Basins, baths and sink units
W3: Dressing sanitary ware: Learn how to put together a bath, basin, and WC
W4: Above ground drainage: Waste pipes, Soil Pipes, Traps
W5: Plumb a cloakroom: Install a basin and pedestal and WC. Plumb hot and cold pipework
W6: Plumb a cloakroom cont.
W7: Connect waste in cloakroom to soil pipe: Test as per industry standards, decommission, evaluate session
Advanced Programme:
W1: Hanging Radiators: Install valves
W2: Radiator Task: Follow diagram: Hang and plumb a radiator. Fill and test
W3: Isolate and remove a radiator without draining down the system
W4: Basics of common plumbing system
W5: Install a cylinder and cold-water storage cistern
W6: Install a cylinder and cold-water cistern
W7: Task assessed, feedback given
