This course will teach you to become a qualified plumber, and is an industry recognised City & Guilds qualification.
The course will allow you to be conversant with the selection, installation, maintenance and repair of domestic plumbing systems. The course will cover health and safety, site preparation, plumbing scientific principles, hot and cold water, central heating, rainwater, sanitation and environmental protection. Alternatively, if you already possess a Level 2 Plumbing Craft certificate or similar, you can apply for our NVQ only course.

What next?
On completion of the course, you can progress onto the NVQ level 3 in Domestic Plumbing & Heating to become a fully qualified gas or renewable technology engineer. Alternatively, you can apply for our Foundation Gas course to become a qualified gas engineer.
Entry criteria
You must be able to work regularly with a qualified plumber and be availble for on site observations. You should have a reasonable understanding of maths and English.

Learning & method assessment
The training will be delivered over two evenings per week over 36 weeks. There will be both practical and theory training with on line theory tests and practical assessments taking place throughout the delivery period.

You will also be required to complete an on site portfolio which will require observations by our assessor.
