Immerse yourself in the impressionistic beauty of Claude Monet’s water lily gardens in this guided painting workshop. In this hands-on workshop, students will explore Claude Monet’s impressionistic style, learning how to capture light, reflection, and movement in a water lily pond using colour, brushwork, and atmospheric effects.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some painting/drawing experience. Students will gain confidence in creating impressionistic landscapes, experimenting with soft colour transitions, reflections, and the characteristic flickering brushstrokes that define Monet’s water lily paintings.

Through step-by-step guidance, learners will produce their own water lily artwork inspired by Monet, developing practical painting techniques while experiencing the meditative, expressive qualities of Impressionism.

By the end of the session, participants will have a completed water lily painting and a deeper understanding of how Impressionist artists capture light, colour, and natural beauty on canvas.

Students begin with an introduction to Claude Monet’s life and artistic approach, focusing on his observation of light, colour, and movement in nature. Learners will study his water lily series to understand brushwork, colour layering, and composition in impressionistic landscapes.
