Ashmolean MuseumThe course focuses on the fundamentals of drawing, including proportion, shape, mark-making, and tone, explored through a range of drawing materials and techniques that give form and structure to your work. You are encouraged to sketch, experiment, and develop your own creative responses, choosing tools and media that suit your approach. Each week, the tutor introduces a planned task, offering demonstrations and individual guidance to support your progress. By the end of the ten sessions, you will have strengthened both your technical abilities and your visual engagement with museum collections.
There is a cafe for refreshments or bring your own to drink in the designated area downstairs. Paid parking around the Museum, bus stops near by, cafe on site, free Wi-Fi, wheelchair accessible. No session during half terms.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
