A fun, experimental painting of a beautiful animal. We will construct the main shapes using simple drawing techniques. We will work on thick watercolour paper which will allow for lots of layers of experimental mark making and textures. We will use a variety of media such as watercolour, ink, chalk pastels. This all builds up to a finished picture that both captures the feeling and energy of a March Hare as well as giving the learner a variety of different techniques to continue practicing with.
Demonstrations in draughtsmanship/construction methods such as plumblines, angles, shapes and ratios. Ample opportunity to experiment with textures and layers of different media. Learners will be encouraged to bring both the formal elements and the free expression to their finished painting.
Please bring an apron if you need one, and an empty glass jar (such as an old jam jar) to use for water for your brushes.
Free parking onsite, bus stop outside. Bring own refreshments if needed.
