OnlineThe demand for these skills and resources have increased because of COVID19 and it is particularly beneficial for those working in education, health, and social care sectors to have a sound understanding of the range of mental health problems.
What the course will cover:
The course will look at a range of mental health problems including anxiety and stress; phobias; depression, including postnatal depression and bipolar disorder; schizophrenia; obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); eating disorders; dementia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
You will have three months to complete the course and should plan to set aside seven hours per week dedicated to research and writing assignments.
Course Outcomes
You will gain an understanding of the diverse ways in which mental health problems affect an individual and those around them and identify self-help resources and local support services.
Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2023 prior to starting the course.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
