Abingdon CampusThere are 3 key aims to be able to gain this award:1. Understand security protection and risk management issues.2. Understand measures to protect IT systems and data from current and evolving threats.3. Be able to implement measures to protect IT systems and data.
By the end of the course the learner will be able to :
• Describe the types of threat to IT systems and data. • Explain the factors that affect the vulnerability of IT systems and data.• Explain measures to protect IT systems and data from current and evolving threats. • Compare different physical security measures used to protect IT systems and data.• Create a user access control system to restrict unauthorised access. • Demonstrate how ethical hacking can be used to protect IT systems and data.
Please note there are no classes during half term.
Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
