Our Creative Industries Level 1 course will help you to discover your potential and open your eyes to the possibilities within the creative field. The introductory course will enable you to explore elements of Art & Design, Media, Performing Arts, Games Development and Music before you make a choice as to what you wish to specialise in for Level 2 and beyond.
If you’ve got a feeling something creative is right for you but you are struggling to find out what you want to specialise in, our introductory course could be your perfect start point. This course is designed to help you explore Art & Design, Media, Performing Arts, Games Development and Music and to teach you the transferrable skills that will help you to succeed no matter what your next steps. You will explore your creative ideas through a range of different processes, such as drawing, painting, digital art, model-making, performance, character design, broadcasting and production, and many more!

Each week you will rotate across each industry, dipping in and out of our different specialisms. As the weeks progress, you’ll see yourself develop the personal skills you need to succeed and see yourself gain confidence in your work and ability. You will learn about the creative process and problem-solving through projects that introduce you to exciting artists, designers, creators and musicians. You will learn new creative and technical skills as well as how to work to a brief and reflect on your progress.

Should you have a hunch that you’re not destined for the stage, or if you’re hesitant about one of our specialisms, don’t be put off! Let us know at your interview, and we can supplement your time, so you spend longer doing the subjects you love.

Did you know? This course is offered as a Study Programme. Study Programmes are the College’s package of enrichment and additional skills that help you achieve alongside your Level 1 qualification. Study programmes help you to develop your maths and English skills at a level right for you; gain 5 days of work experience to grow your employability skills; experience fun enrichment opportunities – including workshops, trips, and visits; and develop your personal skills and attributes with the right guidance and support.
