Cheney SchoolFluency B shifts to more personal topics, encouraging learners to discuss their areas of expertise or interests, providing opportunities to refine language skills in specialised fields.
Twice per term, learners will explore Japanese culture in Japanese-only sessions, providing an immersive experience to strengthen their understanding of both the language and the culture.
By the end of the course, learners will confidently engage in fluid conversations, handle complex discussions, and understand media in Japanese.
Discussing Personal Interests: Learn how to talk in-depth about hobbies, passions, or areas of expertise (e.g., technology, culture, sports).
Specialised Vocabulary: Expand vocabulary related to personal interests, professional fields, or academic topics.
Storytelling: Practice narrating personal stories or experiences, using past tense and descriptive language to engage listeners.
Debates and Opinions: Engage in debates or discussions on specialised topics, learning to argue effectively in Japanese.
Pronunciation & Fluency: Focus on improving pronunciation and rhythm to sound more natural in conversations.
Cultural Learning (Twice per Term)
Japanese Culture in Japanese: Participate in cultural lessons entirely in Japanese, covering topics such as tea ceremonies, festivals, calligraphy, and traditional crafts.
Cultural Immersion: Gain a deeper understanding of Japanese customs, traditions, and history to enhance both language skills and cultural awareness.
