This 30-week programme is divided into three levels—A, B, and C—to build on foundational language skills and deepen learners' ability to communicate in Japanese. Improvers C will further refine learners' skills by enabling them to combine complex sentences, give directions, and discuss events in more detail. Practical communication, including travel-related dialogues and social interactions, will be emphasized, with an aim to increase confidence and proficiency in using Japanese for everyday situations. This course provides the tools to engage in more fluent, real-life conversations while expanding knowledge of Japanese grammar, vocabulary, and culture.
- Advanced Verb Combinations: Combine multiple verbs and adjectives in sentences to describe a sequence of events or actions.- Complex Directions: Learn to give and follow instructions, such as giving directions or explaining a recipe.- Descriptive Language: Describe situations, events, or customs in greater detail using complex sentences.- Conversational Fluency: Practice real-world conversations in various scenarios (e.g., travel, socializing, and professional settings).- Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret longer Japanese texts, including menus, travel notices, and short articles.

"Facilities at Abingdon Campus:- Vending machines and Costa Coffee shop (open until 7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday term time only).- Watercoolers available, making it easy to refill your water bottle.- Free parking. Please note due to half term there will be no session on 04/05/2026 and 25/05/2026."
