This course is a preparation for the Award in Practical Italian and is key in developing the skills needed to undertake the qualification following this course.
The course is designed to look at the four basic skills of learning a language and prepare you for taking the Award in Practical Spanish.

It will introduce you to the concepts of the two modules that make up the award: Entry Level 3 Award in Speaking and Listening in Italian Entry Level 3 Award in Reading and Writing in Italian

In doing so you will practise the language knowledge you have already accumulated in your previous learning and extend that with the use of that knowledge in a variety of common situations and settings such as greeting people, days out, holidays and practical situations like visiting the dentist or supermarket.

There will be no class during half-term. There is no parking on Campus during the day. Please use Marriotts Walk or Woodford Way car parks which are a few minutes' walk away.Please report to Reception on arrival. A photo-ID will be issued for you to wear when attending classes.Vending machines are available.

Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for the Entry 3 qualification of this suite.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

Fee information
A textbook is used to accompany the course, but it is optional to buy this (average cost £20 - £25). The textbook will support your learning for at least 1 year. You may also like to buy a small dictionary. Your tutor will be able to advise you at the first session.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
