Develop your skills in discussing past and future events, describing places, writing emails, and using Italian websites. You'll also explore technology topics and work with large numbers, proportions, and percentages. Resources include a recommended book, articles, audio, and video materials.
Participants will build short narratives with greater confidence, relate events, incidents or accidents, make telephone conversations. They will narrate and give their opinion about how things used to be, contribute to a film review, plan activities for the coming weeks and for the next ten years, organize projects. It means for tenses that they will review the present tense, the perfect and the imperfect past tenses, use more consistently an accurately the future and the conditional on a range of topics and situations

The topics covered on this course are: Booking a holiday; Leisure time; Going to the cinema; Ordering a meal in the restaurant; Discuss radio programmes; Physical fitness

Please note there is no class on 18/02/2026.There is no parking on Campus during the day. Please use Marriotts Walk or Woodford Way car parks which are a few minutes' walk away.Please report to Reception on arrival. A photo-ID will be issued for you to wear when attending classes.Vending machines are available.

Italian - Intermediate Level C
Entry criteria
This course is designed for students who studied Italian for about two academic years and learnt to speak at the present tense, past tenses and future with some knowledge of conditional and subjunctive.

Students should be able from the start to describe their habits and their hobbies, analyse a few characters, provide opinions and express thoughts. The standard approximates to Level A2 in terms of the Common European Framework.
Fee information
A text book is used to accompany the course but it is optional to buy this (average cost £20 - £25). The text book will support your learning for at least 1 year. You may also like to buy a small dictionary. Your tutor will be able to advise you at the first session.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
Learning activities will mainly be organised in pair work/small groups. Homework every week will be based on a summary sheet of the lesson for you to review in your own time. There will be no formal examination.

As this is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
