Our Italian - Improvers B course follows on from our Italian - Improvers A course. The Improvers B course is for those who are not complete beginners. The main aim is to help you to ‘get by’ in an Italian speaking environment. This may be a good place for those “Rusty” beginners who have learned very little Italian but have also got the confidence to work at a slightly faster pace than the Italian beginners A course. Learners will also extend their knowledge of numbers to thousands and millions, and use proportions and percentages.
Through this course, you will become more confident in spoken Italian in a range of everyday situations covering topics relevant to both home and work life including: Countries and nationalities; Jobs; Express opinions about your job; and discuss and express opinions about your pay

You will build on the introduction to basic grammar covered in the previous course and deepen your ability to understand and apply a range of grammatical concepts including tenses and word order. You will also be looking at and picking out the main points from short texts on contemporary subjects.

Italian - Improvers C - Oxfordshire Adult Learning offer a wide range of similar workshops and courses, please check our website for further information.
Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. The standard approximates to the Common European Framework Level A1. It is strongly recommended however for those who are new to the language that you have completed the Italian beginners A course. If you are a “Rusty” beginner it is recommended that you speak to one of our tutors who will be able to assess the appropriate level of course for you.
Fee information
A text book is used to accompany the course but it is optional to buy this (average cost £20 - £25). The text book will support your learning for at least 1 year. You may also like to buy a small dictionary. Your tutor will be able to advise you at the first session.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

There are bursaries available to help you with other course costs. Call 01235 216 212 for more information.

The rules on fee reduction are complicated and we would encourage you to talk to our Admissions staff on 01235 216 400 to discuss your options. You can find more information on our Fees and Bursaries page - search "Fees and Bursaries" at the top of the page.
