Learn how to give a full body massage to family and friends. Each week you will give and receive massage, learning how to massage different parts of the body. By the end of the course you will be able to offer a full body massage to friends and family. The course also covers basic anatomy and principles of massage.
Week 1Theory: benefits of massage; contra-indications; different types of massage stroke; anatomy of the back, neck and shoulders.Practical: setting up the massage couch; back, neck and shoulder massage part 1

Week 2Theory: choosing a massage couch.Practical: back, neck and shoulder massage part 2

Week 3Theory: anatomy of the legs.Practical: leg massage.

Week 4: Theory: anatomy of the arms, hand, neck and headPractical: arm and hand massage; neck and head massage

Week 5:Practical: putting it all together - give and receive a full body massage.

Please bring:- 2 large towels (one to lie on and one to cover you) and one hand towel- a bottle of water to drink.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
The course will include a mixture of demonstration, discussion and practise with one-to-one guidance from the tutor.

As this is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
