Learn about essential oils, blend your own massage oil and give and receive a back, neck and shoulder massage.

In this four hour workshop you will learn what aromatherapy is; what essential oils are and how they are produced; the properties of six different essential oils and how to blend them to create a bespoke massage oil. You will also learn to give a back, neck and shoulder massage.

Theory: overview of aromatherapy; what essential oils are and how they are produced; ways of using essential oils; benefits and cautions of using essential oils; safe proportions for blending oils; the properties of six essential oils.

Practical: create your own massage oil. Give and receive a back, neck and shoulder massage.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
The course will include a mixture of demonstration, discussion, pair work, group work and practical activities. The tutor will offer one-to-one support throughout the course and provide feedback.
To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
