The Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and understanding of infection control principles. It targets individuals working or intending to work in healthcare settings, emphasizing the importance of preventing and controlling infections to support safe and effective patient care.
This course focuses on the study of infection control, covering the causes of infections, the conditions in which they thrive, and the methods for their transmission. Learners will gain insights into the techniques used to prevent and control the spread of infections.

Entry criteria
Learners must be aged 19 or above and have not previously completed a similar qualification to qualify for funding. Some courses may have additional specific prerequisites. Please see fee information for funding requirements, or discuss upon enquiry.

These courses are government funded. To be able to study for free you must meet the following criteria:

- You must currently live in England

- You must have been a resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years for purposes other than study

- You must be over the age of 19

- You must not be an apprentice

- You must not be currently studying another funded course.
