Develop your playing skills - this is a course for people who can strum some basic chords but would like to move onto more fluid playing.
Building on your skills you will continue to play as a group and solo playing will be introduced as your confidence grows.

You will cover:- Guitar chords – more complex chord sequences

- Learn finger picking

- Begin to play guitar on your own

- A variety of genres; blues guitar, rock guitar and classical guitar.

"Facilities at Abingdon Campus:- Vending machines and Costa Coffee shop (open until 7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday term time only).- Watercoolers available, making it easy to refill your water bottle.- Free parking. Please note due to half term there will be no session on 17/02/2026."

Entry criteria
It is aimed a learners who have played the guitar before and are aware of the basics but would like to improve, or have not played in a long time and need to brush up their skills.
Fee information
Please note you will need to bring your own guitar.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
The course will include a mixture of demonstration, observation and practical exercises. The tutor will be available to guide and support you throughout.

As this is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
