The perfect introduction to learning how to play simple tunes on a guitar
This course will teach you the basics you need to start playing simple tunes on the guitar. During the course we will cover:

• Basic guitar chords• Tuning an acoustic guitar• Correct hand placement• How to read music

You will work on a group piece as well as receiving individual feedback. By the end of this course learners will be able to:

• Play along with some modern songs• Read TAB music and chord charts • Have an understanding of the guitar neck and the basic concepts of music theory

Learners will be able to progress onto the improvers course. Please note, you will need to bring your own guitar.

Learning & method assessment
A variety of teaching and learning methods will be used on this course. They may include demonstration, practical, 1 to 1 tuition and group work. This could include discussion and observation. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
As this is a non-accredited course, informal methods of assessment will be used.
