During this workshop learners will be able to learn a new skills and techniques involved in Glass Fusing and Slumping. This will give learners the opportunity to experiment with mosaic techniques, using glass, that will be Fused and Slumped to create a platter or wall panel. At the end of the workshop the glass art will be taken away for firing in a kiln and returned to be collected.
Glass Fused Mosaic. Design a picture by inlaying small pieces of glass and then grouting it with glass powders to create an intricate and colourful glass ‘painting’. Your glass mosaic will be fused together. You can either create a small wall hanging or a shallow slumped platter which will involve a second firing.
What next?
Learners will have the opportunity to enroll on further glass fusing workshops so as to extend their skills and knowledge of kiln formed glass.
Entry criteria
This course is designed as an experimental course in Glass Fusing and Slumping and can be adapted to suit a range of abilities, including beginners.
Fee information
£35 materials and firing fee per learner.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
This course is a practical and hands-on course.

Learning methods will include demonstration and application.

One to one support and guidance will be given where needed.

Visual resources will be available to explain the outcome and to develop ideas.

As this is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
