Abingdon CampusThe session will begin with a short tutorial on glass cutting, including demonstrations of the tools and techniques needed to work safely and effectively. You will then look at examples of glass art and discuss how glass changes when fired in the kiln. With guidance from the tutor, you will explore design ideas and use of colour, before working with a variety of coloured sheet glass to create your own unique coasters.
By the end of the course, you will have learned essential kiln glass techniques and produced a striking set of coasters to take home and enjoy.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
