Learn the fundamentals of kiln-formed glass and create your own unique set of colourful glass coasters.
This creative course is the perfect introduction to the art of kiln-formed glass. You will explore the fundamental techniques of working with glass while designing and making your own set of four distinctive coasters. Drawing inspiration from bold Harlequin patterns or the iconic colours of Mondrian, you will experiment with colour, pattern, and design to produce a themed set of artworks.

The session will begin with a short tutorial on glass cutting, including demonstrations of the tools and techniques needed to work safely and effectively. You will then look at examples of glass art and discuss how glass changes when fired in the kiln. With guidance from the tutor, you will explore design ideas and use of colour, before working with a variety of coloured sheet glass to create your own unique coasters.

By the end of the course, you will have learned essential kiln glass techniques and produced a striking set of coasters to take home and enjoy.
