French - Mastering Conversational Fluency B is delivered at the level C1/C2 of the European Framework for languages. The depth and consistency of learning is designed to stretch your ability in formal, informal and colloquial French. You are expected to have a good command of the language, both written and spoken. You will exchange, analyse and debate in different areas such as science, innovations, social issues, legal rights, art and literature, etc.
In this course, students will be working on fragments from tv programmes, radio programmes, on books and French comics books (Bandes Dessinées), theatre plays, poetry, science, reportages, interviews, legal documents etc... related to a broad range of topics from equality, technology, environment to personal memories or literature. Students will be able to discuss the material, give opinions and use grammar points, vocabulary and idiomatic expressions in these materials. This course also covers sociocultural aspects of France and of French speaking countries, gathering information about “la Francophonie”.
No class during half term.

Entry criteria
Students doing this course have a good command of the language, both written and spoken. They have been using French for about five years or attended a French Mastering Fluency A course.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
