This intensive course is designed to support candidates who have no previous experience in the gas industry to achieve Gas Safe registration. The course includes the Blue Flame Management Learning Programme which delivers practical and theory training in all areas of domestic gas installations and associated appliances. This course then allows candidates to progress on to CCN1 assessment to enable Gas Safe registration. This course meets the requirements of IGEM/ IG1.
The course includes practical and theory training in the following areas:

• gas safety legislation

• basic pipework skills

• unsafe situations

• flueing and chimneys

• ventilation

• combustion (CPA1)

• gas safety controls

• appliances CENWAT

• electrical content

There is a requirement for the candidate to complete the subject end test prior to progressing on to the next subject. Once training and the portfolio are complete you will be issued with a Blue Flame certificate of achievement to enable you to progress to your ACS assessment.

The price of the course includes all training and preparation for the ACS assessment for CCN1 and CENWAT (boilers and water heaters) if candidates wish to undertake assessment.

What next?
Successful completion of the course will allow the candidate to apply for Gas Safe registration. In the future, candidates can also undertake additional training to enable them to work on other gas appliances.
Entry criteria
All candidates are required to work under the supervision of a Gas Safe Registered engineer to complete their on-site portfolio.
