Floristry isn’t just about flowers, it’s about creativity, sustainability, and seeing the extraordinary in the everyday. This course is for anyone craving a fresh take on floral design, whether you’re a curious beginner, a hobbyist looking to innovate, or someone dreaming of a career that blends art with eco-conscious practices.
This isn’t a conventional floristry course. Our approach is rooted in sustainability, resourcefulness, and playful experimentation. You’ll develop an eye for hidden beauty, discover budget-friendly alternatives to cut flowers, and learn techniques that reduce waste while amplifying creativity.

Throughout the course, you’ll explore seasonal and festive designs that align with nature’s calendar. Bring your own materials each week (flowers, foliage, containers) and a camera to document your journey. Starter kits are available online, and you’ll receive clear guidance on what to prepare. Sessions blend lively demonstrations, hands-on crafting, and group discussions where ideas bloom.

We recommend wearing closed, comfortable shoes.

Please note there are no classes during half term.

What next?
After the course, you may wish to continue on a further floristry course to extend your floristry knowledge – perhaps to gain a qualification or pursue a career in floristry. Abingdon and Witney College provide some accredited courses leading to possible careers or self-employment in floristry.
Entry criteria
No previous knowledge or experience necessary. All welcome.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.
