Learn the basics of floristry and gain a City & Guilds (Award, Certificate or Diploma) recognised qualification with this very practical hands-on course.
This course is designed for those people who would like to enter the floristry profession or for those who have a keen interest in floristry and would like to gain a professional qualification. Units you will cover are safe and effective working practices in the land-based industries, carry out basic floral design, identify flowers, foliages, and plants, produce and maintain flower displays, produce planted designs, and assemble basic floral designs.

You will study the elements of design, colour, texture, line, form, shape, and proportion and use these skills when producing your floristry projects. You will also look at sustainable ways of producing your work, considering the environmental impact your decisions have.

There will be written and practical assessments during the course and you will need to present a record of the work in the form of a portfolio at the end of the course. You will be expected to purchase all your resources for the course, including tools, sundries, and flowers.
