The Fast Forward programme provides an opportunity to rapidly catch up with your peers and progress to a vocational pathway. The programme is a one-year transitional course designed for young people who need support in developing independence in their learning.
On this course you will focus on achieving key qualifications, including GCSE English and Maths, and units of the Level 1 BTEC Award in Work Skills.

You will develop core skills in time management, problem-solving, and independent learning; engage in careers education to explore your next steps and inform vocational decisions; and build confidence and readiness to transition into vocational study or work-based training.

Fast Forward addresses the needs of students, stakeholders, and employers by delivering a focused blend of academic qualifications, practical skills, and careers education to support long-term success.

GCSE English and Maths.

Level 1 BTEC Award in Work Skills:

• Unit 5 Understanding Equality and Diversity in the Workplace

• Unit 17 Supporting Environmental Awareness in the Workplace

• Unit 18 Running an Enterprise

What next?
After completing Fast Forward, students will be prepared to progress to:

• Vocational study programmes aligned with their interests and strengths.

• Traineeships or apprenticeships in their chosen field.

• Further qualifications to enhance career prospects.

• Careers aligned with their skills and aspirations.

Entry criteria
GCSE grades 2 or below in English and maths and attended school including Year 11.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
