Excel - Advanced

Level 1 in Cybersecurity.

Topics will include:

- Presenting data visually.- Creating and formatting charts.- Applying conditional formatting.- Sorting and filtering data.- Searching and sorting.- Working with pivot tables- Excel and PowerBI

Practise will be based on real life scenarios and learners are invited to bring in challenges that can be of real time benefit. You may also be involved in developing a new project to solve an issue that you may be experiencing right now.

The college uses windows-based systems not apple-based systems. This does not preclude you from using your apple product however please be aware that there can be slight differences in how you approach certain applications that are primarily written by Microsoft for windows.

Please note there are no classes during half term.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

A textbook is used to accompany the course, but it is optional to buy this (average cost £20 - £25). The textbook will support your learning for at least 1 year. Your tutor will be able to advise you at the first session.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
