Witney CampusThe content of the qualifications is based on the National standards for essential digital skills April 2019. This qualification will enable learners to develop the digital skills they need for life, work, or further study as set out in the National standards for essential digital skills.
The course focuses on developing skills for life and introducing learners to skills for work and covers 5 skills areas:
1. Using devices and handling information
2. Creating and editing
3. Communicating
4. Transacting
5. Being safe and responsible online
Please note that the college uses windows-based systems not apple-based systems. This does not preclude you from using your apple product however please be aware that there can be slight differences in how you approach certain applications that are primarily written by Microsoft for windows.
Please note there will be no classes on 24/12/2026, 31/12/2026, 18/02/2027, 01/04/2027 and 08/04/2027.
There is no parking on Campus during the day. Please use Marriotts Walk or Woodford Way car parks which are a few minutes' walk away.
Please report to Reception on arrival. A photo-ID will be issued for you to wear when attending classes.
Vending machines are available.
You should ideally be looking for work or wishing to improve your employment prospects by applying for this course. You will be invited to attend an initial assessment session prior to the start of the course, to establish your starting point and to direct you to the right level of course for you. You will also be required to undertake an English skills assessment.
Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
