The Assisting Teaching T Level is a comprehensive and industry-focused programme that equips aspiring education professionals with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to excel in the field.
Designed in collaboration with employers to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving sector, this T Level offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real school settings, preparing you for a rewarding career working with children and young people.

Through a combination of classroom learning and industry placements, you’ll explore key areas such as child development, safeguarding, special educational needs, and inclusive practice. In your second year, you’ll focus on developing expertise in supporting teachers, creating engaging learning environments, and helping pupils reach their full potential. Alongside these technical skills, you’ll also build confidence, communication, and teamwork skills which are all essential qualities for a future in education.

Entry criteria
5 GCSEs at Grade 4 including English and Maths, OR a pass at Level 2 and Maths & English grade 4 or above. Please note, if you are considering progressing to Higher Education Education pathway a Grade 4 in Science is required.

T Level placements in Education and Early Years or Health and Social Care involve regulated activity with children and/or vulnerable people. This means students will be directly engaged in caring for, supervising, or educating children and/or vulnerable people. Due to the responsibilities involved, a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is a necessary requirement. This check helps ensure students are suitable to work with children and/or vulnerable people and plays a vital role in safeguarding and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. As part of the enrolment process, students will be asked to bring in the necessary documentation to complete their DBS check. In addition, primary schools, nurseries and care settings will request confirmation of a student’s suitability to work within the sector before accepting them on placement.
