This Level 4 course aims to prepare you for high performance in early years education, leadership, and care. It promotes understanding of equality, diversity, and collaboration across the sector, while addressing contemporary issues through child-centred, values-based approaches.
This course can be studied one year full time (2 days per week) or two years, part time (1 day per week). The programme delivers a strong foundation at Level 4, progressing to Level 5, and develops academic study skills for university entry. It emphasises professional ethics, statutory responsibilities, and global perspectives, enabling you to aspire to international careers. Ultimately, it offers a nationally recognised qualification designed with a greater emphasis on employer engagement and work readiness, to meet local and specialist needs while fostering leadership, partnership working, and lifelong learning. Entry criteria
A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject, or comparable experience, alongside evidence of proficiency in maths and English (e.g., good GCSE results). Students also need to have access to a minimum of 12 hours per week of paid or voluntary work with children aged 0-8 years, for the duration of the course. Tutors welcome enquiries around qualifications and/or suitability for the course.
Fee information
£3000 per year part time or £6000 per year full time. A student loan is available.
