This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to develop an understanding of photographic processes. The qualification will also allow learners to understand how to manipulate and modify images using a range of tools.
This qualification will: • focus on the study of photography• offer breadth and depth of study• provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical and technical skills in photography

The course will cover the themes below:The selection of subjects for creative captureProducing a range of exploratory photographsManipulate, Modify and save imagesProcessing procedures to produce images for viewingReviews and reflections of final imagesLegal and ethical considerationsHealth & Safety including screen health

Please note there will be no class during half-term.Free parking. No refreshments available at venue, please bring with you. The school have a Nut-Free Policy - no foods containing nuts.

What next?
Learners can progress onto further qualifications at Level 2 in photography or move onto the next DSLR – Photography Course in the Spring term.
Entry criteria
Learners will require basic knowledge of how to use the camera.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
