This course is designed to inspire photographers of all levels to explore the expressive and imaginative side of photography.
This course assumes no previous knowledge. Time will be spent mastering the basic controls of a DSLR camera, so that you can apply that knowledge to produce images to set topics.A variety of photographic genres will be explored including Still Life, Landscape, Abstraction, Portraiture and Street Photography.

You will be given the opportunity to try out your responses to these themes both through set homework and class discussion. One of the main learning objectives of this course is to help you discover the type of photography that you are really interested in and provide you with the skills to help them pursue it.

You are required to bring their own Bridge or DSLR camera, or any camera that allows full manual control. Please note that this course is not suitable for those using standard point-and-shoot compact cameras.No class during half term, free parking no site.

There are no entry requirements for this course.All beginners and owners of a Bridge or DSLR camera or a camera that allows full manual control are welcome.Please note this course is not suitable if you own a standard point and shoot compact camera.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

You may be asked to bring your homework as prints, which may incur additional costs of up to £10 per week as you will need to get some prints made, either online or at Boots, Jessops etc.As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
