This qualification is dedicated to providing learners with a foundational understanding of dignity, duty of care, and safeguarding in adult health and social care. It is aimed at individuals currently working or intending to work in these fields. The course emphasizes the importance of upholding dignity and safeguarding principles in healthcare settings and equips learners to navigate dilemmas and consequences when these principles are not upheld.
Throughout the program, learners will explore the key principles of dignity, duty of care, and safeguarding as applied to adult health and social care. They will delve into real-world work contexts to understand how these principles are put into practice and the ramifications of their breach. This qualification also prepares learners for roles in which they may interact with vulnerable adults, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute to the well-being of individuals in their care.

Entry criteria
Learners must be aged 19 or above and have not previously completed a similar qualification to qualify for funding. Some courses may have additional specific prerequisites. Please see fee information for funding requirements, or discuss upon enquiry.

These courses are government funded. To be able to study for free you must meet the following criteria:

- You must currently live in England

- You must have been a resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years for purposes other than study

- You must be over the age of 19

- You must not be an apprentice

- You must not be currently studying another funded course.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
