Enhance your skills with our Stage Four Digital Photography course, designed to build on previous DSLR knowledge and explore new creative techniques.
This Stage Four Digital Photography course is a natural progression from the College’s Stage Three DSLR course, focusing on developing and applying the techniques and knowledge you have already gained. You will be introduced to new ideas and methods inspired by the work of other photographers, supported by practical demonstrations.

Throughout the course, you will explore a wide range of photographic genres including Still Life, Landscape, Abstraction, Portraiture, and Street Photography. You’ll have the chance to experiment and respond creatively through set homework tasks and engaging class discussions.

Learners are required to bring their own Bridge or DSLR camera, or any camera that allows full manual control. Please note that this course is not suitable for those using standard point-and-shoot compact cameras.

There will be no class during half-term. Parking is available on Campus. Should the car park be full please use Marriotts Walk or Woodford Way car parks which are a few minutes' walk away.Please report to Reception on arrival. A photo-id will be issued for you to wear when attending classes.Vending machines are available.

Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, for those who have completed the Colleges level three course or equivalent or for those who have a good understanding of aperture, shutter speed and ISO and are using their cameras in manual mode.An interest in photographers and photography in general will enable a more enjoyable experience on this course.

Learners need to bring own Bridge or DSLR camera or a camera that allows full manual control are welcome.Please note this course is not suitable if you own a standard point and shoot compact camera.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
