Cyber Security Technologist Level 4 Apprenticeship - Cyber Security Engineer

The Apprenticeship is made up of key duties which the apprentice must show recognised knowledge skills and behaviours in:
Identify Cyber Vulnerabilities: Assess systems to ensure security measures are effective.
Identify Security Threats: Recognize and assess threats to inform risk assessments and security design.
Research Attack Techniques: Investigate attack methods and propose defense strategies.
Support Security Assessments and Incidents: Assist with risk assessments, audits, and incident response.
Develop Security Designs: Create designs with justification to meet cyber security parameters.
Configure and Deploy Security Technology: Implement cyber security tools and technologies.
Develop Program Code: Write code for digital systems, including industrial control systems.
Communicate Findings: Prepare reports and presentations on cyber security topics.
Manage Security Operations: Oversee cyber security processes in line with policies and business needs.
Participate in Simulations: Engage in cyber war gaming and simulations for training and evaluation.
Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Continuously learn and develop skills in response to industry changes.
Design, Build, and Test Digital Networks: Develop networks based on design requirements.
Develop Security Cases: Analyze security needs and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Implement Security Controls: Apply structured security measures based on the security case.
Prevent Security Breaches: Utilize tools, techniques, and processes to protect systems from breaches.

Upon successful completion of the Cyber Security Technologist Apprenticeship, apprentices can progress to higher-level qualifications or pursue careers as:
Cyber Security Engineers
Security Analysts
Incident Response Specialists
Security Operations Center (SOC) Engineers

Level 3 qualification in IT, Computer Science, or related field
Strong interest in Cyber security and information technology and will need to demonstrate the ability to achieve all elements of the apprenticeship during their programme, including working in a suitable job role.
Basic understanding of networking and operating systems
Applicants are likely to have 5 GCSEs A*- C / 9 - 4, including Maths and English, or equivalent.

Free to apprentices. This apprenticeship has a £18,000 funding band. Depending on age some small companies will need to contribute £900 toward the funding; large companies could pay through the apprenticeship levy if they have funds available.
