Take the next step in your writing journey. This course helps you refine your skills, explore new techniques, and strengthen your storytelling as you deepen your creative practice in this intermediate course.
This course will build on your existing creative writing skills, providing more advanced techniques while addressing your specific goals. Topics include:

• Strengthening short stories and novels, refining structure and pacing• Deepening character development with emotional complexity• Crafting intricate plot structures and building narrative tension• Exploring advanced dialogue techniques and using subtext effectively• Experimenting with different points of view and narrative voices• Advanced strategies for self-editing and reviewing your work• Exploring different mediums, including dramatic writing, screenwriting and poetry• Exploring advanced creative writing theory and writer's methodologies • Developing your unique voice and refining your personal writing style• Advanced tips for getting published and navigating the literary world

Entry criteria
There are no specific entry requirements, but students will be expected to do written exercises in class and (to make the most of it) as homework. It may have helped to have completed Creative Writing Beginners and Improvers courses, alongside Creative Writing - Intermediate Level A. However, it is not a prerequisite. Students will need to come with notebook and pen (or laptop if they prefer).
Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
