Expand your skills, sharpen your style, and explore advanced techniques to craft compelling, sophisticated stories that reflect your unique voice.
The course will cover a range of topics, with flexibility to meet the unique needs and goals of each student.

Topics include:• Crafting and refining short stories and novels• Finding inspiration and overcoming writer’s block• Developing story structure, including plot arcs and sub-plots• Creating complex, memorable characters• Writing authentic, engaging dialogue• Exploring first and third person perspectives• Techniques for reviewing and editing drafts• Writing for different mediums: stage, screen, poetry and experimental creative writing• Writing creative non-fiction• Blogging and writing for online platforms• Strategies for getting published and submitting work

Entry criteria
There are no specific entry requirements, but students will be expected to do written exercises in class and as homework in order to make the most of the course. It may have helped to have completed Creative Writing Beginners A, B and/or C; however, it is not a prerequisite.
Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
You will be assessed through formal and informal assessment, observation, and peer evaluation. Also, you will self-evaluate your skill set at the start of the course against the learning outcomes planned for the course and will self-evaluate again at the end of the course in order to measure your progress and gain confidence in your learning. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
