Our Creative Industries Level 1 (UAL Level 1 Diploma in Art, Design & Media) course will help you to discover your potential and open your eyes to the possibilities within the creative field. The introductory course will enable you to explore elements of Art & Design, Media and Games Development before you make a choice as to what you wish to specialise in for Level 2 and beyond. For those of you with a real interest in Music we will also organise specific sessions where you can explore and develop your music skills to support you to prepare for progression onto Music level 2.
*For learners who have a specific interest in progressing to Performing Arts we encourage you to apply to the Abingdon Campus*
If you’ve got a feeling something creative is right for you but you are struggling to find out what you want to specialise in, our introductory course could be your perfect start point. This course is designed to help you explore Art & Design, Media, Games Development and Music and to teach you the transferrable skills that will help you to succeed no matter what your next steps. You will explore your creative ideas through a range of different processes, such as drawing, painting, digital art, model-making, character design, broadcasting and production, and many more!

Each week you will rotate across each industry, dipping in and out of our different specialisms. As the weeks progress, you’ll see yourself develop the personal skills you need to succeed and see yourself gain confidence in your work and ability. You will learn about the creative process and problem-solving through projects that introduce you to exciting artists, designers, and creators. You will learn new creative and technical skills as well as how to work to a brief and reflect on your progress.
