The Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise Level 4 is a dynamic qualification designed for highly skilled creative individuals. This qualification is awarded by University of the Arts London awarding body (UAL).
The Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise Level 4 is a comprehensive program that equips students with the skills needed to thrive in the creative industry. This course empowers students to develop their entrepreneurial skills, preparing them for self-employment and running their own creative businesses. It inspires artistic ambitions and fosters connections within the industry. Throughout the programme, students cultivate their entrepreneurial skills, expand their network, and develop start-up projects and professional practices. The course covers essential topics such as budgeting, legal considerations, marketing, and health and safety requirements, all while contextualising students’ creative practice within the broader creative industries. If you are passionate about creativity and want to forge your path as a freelance or self-employed creative professional, this diploma is an excellent choice.

Students will cover content linked to developing the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding needed to set up a new business within their chosen industry. Students will be given a broad diagnostic view of their specialist industries and associated policies and will also develop a firm understanding of the interrelated business skills and the wider operational processes inherent in enterprise ventures.

What next?
This course is designed to support learners who wish to become self employed or set up their own business in the creative industries sector; however learners can equally progress to University in a creative field should their aspirations change.
Entry criteria
5 GCSEs at Grade 4 including a creative subject and English & Maths, and 2 A-Levels or equivalent qualification at a grade C or above in a Creative Subject.

All learners will be invited to an interview

Materials - no specific material costs for this programme; however dependent on learners personal field of creative interest they may wish to purchase own specific materials when working on individual projects.

Tuition fee is free for eligible students aged 18.

19+ tuition is £4,670.00 and you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. Please enquire for more information.

UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise
Learning & method assessment
This unit will be delivered through a series of lectures and workshops in order to enhance students’ understanding and application of creative enterprise skills. Group critiques with peers and tutors will promote reflective learning, along with group discussions where critical thinking skills will be refined.

Students will be increasingly autonomous in their approach to their learning and will be expected to conduct independent research in order to gain a sophisticated understanding of their professional development.

Assessment will be conducted through development of a portfolio of work and research for the formative assessment units; and then for the final summative unit learners will submit a creative enterprise business plan, pitch their creative enterprise business plan and submit a final evaluation.

Facilities and learning resources will be available for students to access outside taught sessions including our art studios, music studios at the Witney campus and newly build Media facilities at Abingdon campus.
