To achieve the Level 4 qualification, learners must demonstrate proficiency in all seven mandatory units and complete internal assessments which involve tutor assessment of the candidate’s portfolio evidencing minimum assessment requirements and verified by CPCAB. Assessments encompass a variety of formats, including assignments, self-reviews, case studies, and diverse class-based activities, all of which are intricately connected to anticipated roles in counselling. Additionally, learners are required to maintain weekly journals that contribute to meeting specific criteria and collectively form a comprehensive portfolio of evidence.. CPCAB requires a minimum attendance of 80-85%, with the first session being essential because it contains important training around IT and course requirements.
Students can progress to work within an Agency setting and/or can choose to continue their studies with progression to Level 5 study and training. On completion of the course, once in clinical practice, counsellors can work towards accredited recognition by a professional body such as BACP, UKCP, NCS, HGI, BPC and ACC.
