This course offers learners a practical and supportive introduction to using breath, mindfulness and meditation techniques to help reduce stress, boost energy, improve emotional balance, and enhance overall wellbeing.
Participants can expect to:Learn a variety of breath-work techniques to regulate the nervous system, improve focus, and promote calm.Explore different meditation styles, including single point of focus, guided meditation, body scans and visualisations.Crete a steady home practice with simple and useful tools that can be used day to day.Understand the mind/body/breath connection, and how conscious breathing can support emotional and physical health.Experience a safe, welcoming space to unwind, reflect and reconnect with the present moment.Each session typically includes a short discussion, a guided practice and time for questions or gentle sharing. No prior experience is needed.Please note: if focusing on the breath tends to cause you discomfort or anxiety, this course may not be the right fit for you at this time. We want all participants to feel safe and supported throughout this experience

The course will be held online using Teams and your tutor will email you calendar invites prior to classes.

This course is provided as part of Courses for Carers that has been developed in partnership with Action for Carers. It is specifically for unpaid carers who are looking after someone who has a long-term illness, special need, or impairment.
Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
