Continue developing your non-fiction writing skills and consolidating techniques. Build confidence in expressing ideas, structuring content, and refining your writing in a supportive space.
This course is designed to help you build confidence in creative writing, focusing on developing your skills in non-fiction writing. The course involves learning to express yourself in creative essays, autobiographical writing, writing memoirs and articles. Within it, you will explore different persuasive writing techniques in a fun and supportive online environment. Whether you're a beginner or have experience, you'll be encouraged to write in every session. Using Writing Prompts – Generate ideas and develop fluency.

Descriptive and Expository Writing – Present clear, engaging content. Writing for Different Audiences – Adapt tone and style for impact. Structuring Non-Fiction – Organise ideas for clarity and coherence. Writing from Different Perspectives – Explore diverse viewpoints. Persuasive and Opinion Writing – Develop arguments and persuasive techniques. Editing and Refining – Strengthen writing through revision and feedback. Building Confidence and Sharing Work – Gain constructive support from peers.

Entry criteria
This course is provided as part of the Courses for Carers programme that has been developed in partnership with Action for Carers. It is specifically for unpaid carers who are looking after someone who has a long-term illness, special need, or impairment.
You do not need to have attended previous Creative Writing courses to join this course.
Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

This is a writing course so you will be expected to create pieces of writing during the sessions and be willing to share your work with other people in the class as part of the creative process.
To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
