This is a one year full time course, supported by periods of developing practical skills on the College estate and surrounding farms. We work with local farmers, estate managers, countryside rangers and other local employers to access a range of practical locations and complete trips or visits to build your understanding of the industry.
The College estate provides an essential resource for the development of practical skills and you will take part in vital maintenance and building projects alongside college staff as part of the estate's maintenance and development, including activities such as fencing, paddock maintenance, stock management, and the construction of small structures (such as signage).

You will study a range of units designed to provide a broad understanding of the knowledge and practical skills required to work within the Countryside industry. Teaching is a mixture of practical activities, and classroom sessions, that work towards the achievement of an online examinations, and a written/practical assessment of practical skills and knowledge. Students will usually attend College for 4 days/week, with classes from 9.30am - 4.30pm.
