The Level 2 Computing course will help you take your first steps towards a career in the Digital Technology industry. Through a combination of practical experience and written assignments, the course provides learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for a successful career in this fast-paced industry sector.

Using our state-of-the-art facilities, you will learn a range of technical, practical and academic skills in order to prepare you for a career in the industry, an apprenticeship or further study. The course focuses on common computer applications and the technical skills valued by employers in the workplace, including; The Online World, Technology Systems, Digital Portfolio, Database Development and Software Development; which will enable you to become a vocationally trained and an adaptable individual in this challenging and fast-moving industry.

What next?
You have different options. You can progress to the T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development, go into an Apprenticeship or study an alternative level 3 qualification within Further Education.

Entry criteria
4 GCSES at grade 3 including English or Maths OR a Level 1 pass in a related subject plus English or Maths, and both English and Maths must be at least grade 2 / Level 1 Functional Skills.

Learning & method assessment
A variety of assessment methods are used including observation of practical tasks, practical task write ups which detail how the task was performed, written theory knowledge papers and online exams. These will challenge your understanding of the content and concepts of computing. If required you will also study GSCE English and/or maths to support your entry to employment, apprenticeship or further studies.
