Abingdon CampusThis qualification is suitable for those who have completed a CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice and are working in practice at a supervisory level or for those who have worked in practice at a supervisory level for a number of years. It is aimed at further expanding learners’ independent practice to enable them to evolve into more senior roles within organisations as people professionals. Learners’ work will be mainly operational with some complexity. They will contribute to the thinking around their work, analysing information to inform choices and actions. Working with and influencing others through their work will create short-term value for a wider audience. Using a framework of HR and Learning and Development understanding, behaviours and skills development, this qualification offers an opportunity for learners to transition to employment as people managers.
This qualification is suited to learners who:Are studying, aspiring to, or embarking on a career in people practiceAre working in a people practice support role and wish to develop their knowledge and deliver immediate and short term value for their organisationWish to develop the specialist knowledge, skills and understanding required to be a people professional
Students should allow themselves time to study outside of the course too. The amount may vary depending upon the ability of the student, the level of the course, previous knowledge and speed of working. Homework will be set weekly.

There are also extra costs for students to consider. There are copies of core texts available in the library, but students may wish to purchase their own.
It is a requirement of the course that students must also join the CIPD as a studying member. Fees are set by the CIPD and published on their website here: https://www.cipd.org/uk/membership/membership-fees/
You may also be encouraged to attend a CIPD student conference. This is optional and would be at the students’ expense, fees are set by the CIPD and vary annually.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
